I usually leave the strings on my home steel on for about 6 months..
I was comped a couple sets E9 and C6 and they have been on a year now, and still sound bright and alive.
I bought replacement sets for about $16.00 for my next change.
My giggin steel gets changed monthly until i run out of the brand i've been using .

I've had a set of NYXL strings on my E9 for months with no breakage and, to my perception, little or no loss of highs or sustain (really good sustain).

A demo of strings by Paul Franklin? That's like "See how great Aaron Rodgers's passes are using a Rawlings football!"

I like NYXL D`Addarios but have not been able to get gages 40, 44 and 50. I have had to purchase D`Addarios for those three sizes locally from the music store that RISGA President Jim Rice works at.
