Nice playing! Cool take. I dig the modulation, the octaves section, and the slants, these melodies sound so great on steel.

As far as tone goes, it always depends of course on the gear you are using. I don’t know what amp you use, but I know a fry pan pickup has a wide range, and can be bright. I’d suggest a maybe a 5-8 band EQ and boosting lot of the low-mids if you haven’t already. I think you might be able to experiment with settings to find a sound you like.

Thank you so much for the reply Jesse and useful tip. I have a Roland mobile which doesn’t have much EQ. I have tone all the way down because the horseshoe on this gets pretty bright. Probably useful to get an EQ pedal to get some added boost to the low mids. Appreciate it!

That's a great old tune, Lara and well played. Nice, natural vibrato. It seems the sustain of the frypan isn't fully realized. Perhaps an amp that more fullyexploits what the guitar has to offer would help?

Lara, there are many people here who know amps way better than I do who can advise you but broadly speaking, folks seem to like Quilters, Fender tube amps of all kinds, as well as solid-state amps like the Roland Microcube.

Personally, I sold a few of my amps over the last few years and now, mostly use a Fender SuperChamp X2 modeling amp that I like a lot.
