Jeff Newman ?

Post by John Palumbo »

I was wondering if this may be Jeff Newman. I believe the picture is from a show in the 70's called, That Good Ole Nashville Music.

Although not really a whole lot of steel featured, just thought that might have been Jeff. I always thought this was Crystal Gayle's best song.

I'm guessing that is an Emmons. Back then they had to cover over or remove any name plates.

BTW: that's the great Jerry Byrd on rhythm guitar.
AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. Can't get much sweeter.

Thanks, Bill . .
I was beginning to wonder how many replies I'd be
scrolling down before Byrd was acknowledged! ;-)

Wood neck Emmons push pull looks like. Has the long levers.
