Bo, Bobbe Seymour has them and Emmons Guitar Co. has them. They are like the Blue Hercos, but they are red and made from delrin. They have a little more flex than the blues.
Or, better still, go to one of the steel shows and you will leave with more picks than you will ever need.

I get mine from Fran at Jeffran Music. They are stiff, but I like the tone better than the more flexible ones. |

The "Newman" thumbpicks from Jeffran are not the same as the red Hercos. The red Hercos are like really flimsy blue Hercos, and the Jeffran picks are, I believe, made out of the same material as guitar pickguards? They're OK once you reshape them, but they wear pretty quickly. I have a LOT of thumbpicks (at least I can afford to collect something), but these two don't make my "top five list." |

Here's a look at the Jeffran pick. They are comfortable but do seem to wear quickly as previously stated. http://community-1.webtv.net/mytunes/picks/ The blue one next to it is the Herco. I think it is the same as their red one.
My favorite lately is the black Geo. L's. The blade is too wide for me, so I took a tip from Eric West and filed and reshaped it suit me. The mod leaves them with a longer blade like the Jeff pick and they wear longer. [This message was edited by Jerry Overstreet on 24 June 2006 at 09:36 AM.] |

I bought some red Peaveys from a local music store. They were pretty comfortable, but after using one on a few gigs it broke on the job. We were under an ac and it was really cold, when I tried to put it on after break it broke right on the top. I have not tried them since.

Billy Cooper's Music in Orange, Va. has the red Herco like thumbpicks in stock. They're very nice and hold their shape well.....JH in Va.
