My Friend Ray Jesen in Redding Ca needs a 8 inch rod for his Carter, he call Miss Ann, and was told he needed to send in his pedal set up,and name, phone numbers, ect, now I ask you...why in the hell can't you just ask for a rod and they say How long?? and do you need a tunning nut to?? and then just send the damm thing!!! I told him I could make it a lot easer to just buy a new MSA from me!!!! ..so, if any you know where he can get the rod he needs with out all the BS ... let me know... |

What's Tom's number? I've been putting off adding pulls on my guitar for the very same reason.

David, I have an 8" rod from a Carter Starter; it has a hooked end (fits through a hole in the permanent bellcrank). I'll give it away (after I make sure I can find it!).
Email me if needed. |

With the right die nut and welding rod you can make one in just a few minutes. |

I don't think that Ann did something wrong here.We all know that Carter has a big library with almost every Carter owner in it.Maybe Ann just wanted to confirm that your friend is in that library.

That can be done..But the value of the steelguitar will decrease if you do that.

Your Right David I would like to know why you can't just buy some parts to make a change or two? But just be thankful it's not an emmons
God knows what you have to do to get something from them? |

Buy a Sierra and Tom will send you anything either need and/or want. If it has been updated, he will tell you and send something better than what you had. I know this from first hand experience. |

So what if he is not in that "library"? He is trying to buy a part for a Carter steel guitar! Not check out a book.
I never did understand all the hassle with getting a simple(in stock) part.
It is not like they have to retool.
If a customer says "I need an 8" pull rod",
and it turns out that what he actually needed was an 8 1/4" rod, then the customer is at fault for inaccurate measuring!
Carter would not be obligated to accept a return.
Why is there always a hassle with getting a simple part?
Geez.
Simply amazing............[This message was edited by Curt Langston on 23 June 2006 at 05:50 AM.] |

I have found the folks at Carter to be extremely helpful. I once missed a deal on their Swap Shop, and Ann referred me to a man who had exactly the Carter guitar I wanted. There was nothing in that transaction that benefited them, that's just the kind of people they are. They continue to offer excellent support and parts I need whenever I need them. Carter gets an A+++ in my book. |
