Sho Bud Finger tip. S10,, [not mine] 3&3

Post by Bob Carlucci »

Saw it today in a music store.. Owner knows nothing about pedal steel. Took it on trade.
NEVER in my life have I seen an S10 Fingertip...

Perhaps others have, but I have only seen D10's...

Has handles on both end plates, pickup switch and volume or tone control in endplate as well.
Gumby with open tuners. Gorgeous natural finish with flame and birds eye maple body, thats not all checked and should clean up nicely.

Has a brass "Custom Built For" plaque on the front apron, last name of the original owner is Brown.
Has the playing card suites in the center of the front apron, that look to me as though they were "set in" on a wood block at a later date.. Looks factory, but not original if that makes any sense.. Has an ancient case, -has 2 sets of pedal rods, one longer, one shorter.. It also comes with an absolutely GORGEOUS fitted leather cover, that looks like original Sho bud.. Beautiful leather with huge Bud Logo and looks custom for sure .. This cover if its original Bud custom gear has got to be rare in the extreme, and worth quite a bit on its own.. Looked in great shape!

Someone out there wants this old Bud I am sure.. I DO NOT know the owner, have NO dog in this hunt, but I told him that someone wants this old Bud, and I would be glad to help him sell it to an appreciative buyer that will play/restore it well ... I do not do business with this store and haven't been there in years, just trying to help out- the owner, and whoever buys this VERY cool old piece...
I told the owner that he would need to supply good detailed photos to the discriminating buyers on the SGF, and he is fine with that... He is asking $1299, but I think he will wheel and deal, and maybe even take trades for stuff he can move, but thats up you you and him.. I will provide the store name and info to anyone who cares to PM me... again, this is NOT my deal, and I am making NOTHING on it, and do NOT know the store owner.. Just trying to be of help, thats all.... bob

Big response... Probably should have kept my "mouth" shut, and bought it myself!... Its a rare bird indeed, in pretty decent shape, and that leather Bud cover is a show stopper.

You guys fight it out I guess... I was going to just post the address here, but have decided as of right now to give all the PM messages first crack.... I hope the buyer keeps in contact and lets me know more about it... bob
