"Imagine" Steel Guitar Tribute-15 Players!
On the anniversary of John Lennon's death, it felt appropriate to share this steel guitar tribute of "Imagine" I put together along with 14 of my steel playing brothers. Seems no better time to live the words "Imagine all the people, living life in peace". Special dedication to Steve Hinson and his recovery from Covid! Featuring Jay Dee Maness, Mike Daly, John Macy, Pete Finney, Paul Carestia, Randy Beavers, Mike Smith, Russ Pahl, Steve Hinson, Ed Ringwald, Dan Dugmore, Buck Reid, Travis Toy, Bruce Bouton and Lloyd Green.

Thanks so much. It was a Linit of love for sure!!
Yes, the video is correct with the players. I wish I had gotten real video!
As for getting everyone together, it was really just asking everyone and most that I asked jumped on it. We are all friends and have worked professionally with many of them, too.
I had the track cut and sent out to all the players. I gave everyone the bars/phrases that they would play. No one heard what anyone else had played, which makes the continuity even more amazing. Tone is pretty much what each player sent, tied together with some common reverbs.
I am submitting it to the Guinness Book of Records for most steel players on a single track.
I will also share each players guitar/gear coming up soon, too.
Glad you liked it, and many thanks to all those great players!!!

Very nice renditions by all. No over the top playing by any of the players - just very tasty playing. Similar tone by many of the guys.

Thanks to Bruce and Pete and all the players who generously agreed to play on this, and thanks Steve for the shoutout. I kept wanting to add more chorus’ and keep adding players cause I missed having several other players and friends I would have liked to join in. My best to all for the holiday!

very sorry to change subject somewhat, but is there any name for the steel technique where a player almost intentionally hits the “wrong†note and turns it around into something that totally works?
Example at 1:27 in this video. That’s the kind of stuff that just about makes me fall out of my chair. So good!
