Good Deal

Post by George Piburn »

Some one is going to get an amazing deal at this price. IMO you should be raising , not lowering for forum deal seekers.

I paid 300 for the case alone in 2006 dollars.

We made only 2 of this with the sunburst, this also has our roller pin system, all set in place with metal dowel pins for extreme accuracy.

Since I am the original manufacturer, I get to declare current pricing Value, which is 2500.00 usd

I have retired from making these and no more will ever be made again by me. The collectibility of this is increasing not decreasing.

Hope this helps

George Boards.

George, are the notches in the nut generic "V" cuts, or are they custom to the string gauges on the guitar (tuning)? Thanks.

V Grooves

Post by George Piburn »

Both of the brass pins were precision CNC Lathed, we start with an over sized brass rod ,
and turn it down to the final diameter to get them more round than standard stock from a metal supply.
That added a lot of initial production cost.

The V Grooves are gauged deeper as they get fatter.

The Nuts and bridges on these series of GeorgeBoards were all set up so that the tops of the strings are higher than the top of the brass.
Of course all at micro measurements in thousands of an inch tolerances.

The intension was to accommodate the "Hawaiian" desire to pull on or push off of fret one to or from Zero below the nut.
This allows for a glide into the sunset off to the tuner end of the neck.
Without the inherent Clank of smacking the nut with a tone bar, because the string depths are cut deeper into the nut material as is typical on normal standard guitars.

Have I said too much?
