OMG, That is very sad news, just saw his postings and knew he was ill, but not that severe.

I worked some sessions with Mike years ago and shared some memories with him when he was on the road with Tammy Wynette. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a heck of a nice guy and I pray for his family. RIP my old friend.

I was really praying (and thinking) he'd pull through this OK. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Mike.

Sorry to hear this. I ran into Mike on a few gigs around Gallatin, but I know him as much from the local gun shop as anything. A very nice and humble person.

Condolences and prayers to his family.

This is such sad news. We'd never met, but we spoke on the Forum a few times.
I know he had many friends, both on online and off, and my sincere condolences to them, and of course, to his family.
He'll be missed, that's for sure.

Steve,

We messaged last Tuesday and he indicated to me that he was going to be okay, Dana Lunden called me a bit ago and said he was gone.

Mike was one of the good guys.

Y'all be careful out there!

I am blown away by this news! I only met Mike several years back at Bobby Seymour's Steel Guitar Nashville store when there was an open house being held on a Saturday. Mike was one of the first "name" steel players I met that day. He seemed like such a good guy and had a beautiful touch on the steel! I know he was several years younger than me....this news and this virus is so awful! It seems that there is absolutely no way to predict how hard someone will be hit by it; age and existing health issues must enter in to the equation, but it seems to be so random. My sincere condolences to Mike's friends here on the forum and certainly to close friends and family. He will be missed. Roger :(

What a gut punch! I never met Mike, either in person or online, but in this terrible year I've been checking the "Our Extended Family" and "Gone Home" sections a lot more than ever before.

His first-person posts about his Covid experience did us all an invaluable service in conveying the reality of this awful plague. His references to "infection going way down" and "slow, tedious recovery", just a few days ago, are heart-breaking now.

He apparently didn't know how he could have gotten it. All any of us can do is bend over backwards to do our best to avoid exposing ourselves, and others, to this danger. May we all make it through this safely!

Condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?
