Eddie Trent
I just learned Eddie Trent from Kingsport, TN passed away yesterday apparently of a heart attack. He was an excellent player and toured with Ava Barber at one time. He also did a lot of recording studio work. Condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Yes Lyle. His name; along with Mike Douchette was seen on the back of a lot of Gospel albums and cds. They contributed so much to the music of steel guitar.

Sorry to hear of His passing! I never got to meet him and possibly we were kin. I have relatives in Kingsport, mostly named Kendall. I hope all the best to the family!

Eddie was a good friend and an excellent player. He was a hoot to be around... never a dull moment and he always a story to tell. He loved to talk about music and steel. If you were a steel player, Eddie considered you a "brother". I miss him, not just for his playing but for his friendship also.
