Lloyd Green solo/outro
Been figuring out one of the great historical solos/outro. Mr.Greens/Ricky Skaggs recording of "No one can hurt you". His nuances and emotional note choices are exploding my brain. His timing/pedal work, vol. and guitar pedals simply stuns me! True Master of this machine! His playing is straight from the heart.
https://youtu.be/oudZXR1eKMk outro is around 3:30.

I thought I had heard all this Highways and Heartaches but apparently I have not as I don't recall hearing this tune and I surely would have. Great tune and Ricky's vocal is just suberb. The arrangement with Lloyd's solo outro is just perfect and one of the unusual events where they let this happen.
No one plays with more feeling than Lloyd Green. His playing can bring a tear to a glass eye as in this example. Anyone that is not moved by his playing is dead inside. Of course, he can burn it up too.
It's no wonder that so many have tried to follow his path. One of the few true icons and pioneers of pedal steel guitar.
Thanks for posting this Joe.

No One Can Hurt You
One of the most beautiful solos that I've ever heard. I've been told that the solo as performed at the session was much, much longer. I'd really like to hear what was dropped.[/quote]

I attended the 1988 ISGC when Lloyd was inducted.
I taped Lloyd's sets (with a Radio Shack boombox - hey it worked!) - here is a link to his sets - the induction part was with Ricky and includes "Nothing Can Hurt You" with some commentary on the song. Enjoy!
