Stu Schulman's amazing CD's

Post by Jim Hoke »

If you haven't heard "Emotionally Disturbed" and "B4 I Stroked" you need to check out these sweet sounds right now! These 2 discs span the different ways you can make a record - B4... is spontaneous performances, un-fussed-over and real, with impeccable choices of songs like "Our Day Will Come"and "Joanne". A more "produced" album, "Emotionally Disturbed" features, again, killer covers ("Walking In The Rain" by The Ronettes featuring a singer named Veronica! They give it the full Spector treatment, down to the bitchin' baritone guitar part. Ricky Nelson's "Lonesome Town" is another standout. Stu's palette of instruments includes B3, Wurli and other keyboards, guitars, uke and drum programming, besides his tasteful, emotional steel playing. Well done, Stu! Hoping they'll be more to come, out of this Covid situation....
