basic setting for 2016 version

Post by John Ed Kelly »

Hi Folks,

I have just purchased a second hand 2016 version of BIAB for Mac.

It loaded up OK and I have put in my first song. It's a 32 bar piece set to KEY C, TEMPO 150 and set to play for 3 choruses.

The selected style is ''Swing 40s, Big Band''

My problem is enabling the bass to play beyond bar 24.

So...I can hear 24 bars with guitar, bass and drums (I don't want to use the other voices)and thereafter it's guitar and drums only.

Up till now I have used a 1998 version on my old Windows machine, which has now bitten the dust...so I know some OLD basics...but this modern version has many bells and whistles. The problem is which bell or whistle will solve the problem?

Thanking you in anticipation.

In windows you can right click on the bar where you want a change, then in the popup box you can mute or unmute each instrument. You can also reset bar. I don't know the process for Mac, but it might be the same.

Hi John,

I'm sorry but I use the Windows version so I'm not going to be much help with an older Mac version.

You may want to try the PG Music Mac forum section, here is a link: https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthrea ... =39&page=1

Right click into the culprit bar, you'll find a "Bar settings", click on it and you'll find among other things a list of all instruments used in your file. Check if the bass has been muted from there, then unmute it. Bar setting is also a menu item so you can go from there too. BIAB's help is quite overwhelming for mac users too.
