There's a very clear and simple diagram on the Mullen website. If you download the owner's manual pdf., it's on page 17. |

I don't believe that the Emmons diagram is the same as the ShoBud wiring. To the best of my recollection, I was surprised at how it was done and I'll try to find it and get back to you. |

This is from a Super Pro that I worked on a while back, it's the stock Sho-Bud tone control circuit. This matches the diagram posted above (not the linked Emmons diagram) with the exception of the cap being downstream of the bypass switch. Works the same either way. The cap is .05uF, a .047uF will work fine.

Hey Jim, Ian and ever buddy on this thread.
Ian, as I’m lookin at your picture, it’s looks like by that picture, it mite be a SPDT Switch.?
What I have is a SD 10 Gitar with Tone control and bypass switch. (Not hooked up.)
So how would that Be wired to that switch and control.?
Does the hot wire from the pickup go to the switch first, then on to the output.?
Thank y’all for all your help.

If there is only one pickup, the hot wire goes straight to the output jack. The wire leading to the switch/capacitor/tone pot does also, so yes you could tie them both on the switch. The idea is just that the hot signal from the pickup is also progressively bled through the capacitor to ground depending on the position of the tone pot when the bypass switch is engaged. Any switch will work for the bypass, it's just acting as an on-off switch. _________________ All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest - Paul Simon |

So if I understand correctly, one could run the pickup hot and ground leads straight to the “output†of the guitar, then run another shielded wire from the ouput to the center lug of the switch that goes to the “Tone†control, correct.?
Then that could engage a Passive Tone Circuit .
Thank you for your reply.

Correct. The hot wire to the tone circuit doesn't need to be shielded, it's just a single wire. Good luck! _________________ All lies and jest, still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest - Paul Simon |
