Zum scam on eBay

Post by Bonnie Saher »

eBay currently has a zum on For 3,000.00 it is a great picture with a newer looking zum and a story of a sick father. but there is no bidding or buy now if you look at the pictures one of them has the email of a pawn shop to buy the guitar with a caption that all bids on eBay will be canceled

It does seem to be an interesting situation. The seller reportedly has 8700 + transactions with a 100% positive feedback. So, they know how to do business on eBay.

Cancelling bids, in lieu of a "Buy It Now" price is just not how it is done. It says the seller is away, which again is not a very common situation for a good volume seller.

The company name for the eBay store is "Merlemond Vintage." Yet, communications are to be directed to "info@pawn-online.com."

Maybe an employee got access to the eBay store and is trying something, I dunno, just guessing. It is curious, though.

Good catch Jerry... This looks like another "cookie cutter" scam as detailed in your post.

How does the scammer "hijack" an account, I wonder. As a low volume seller on eBay, I would like to know. I will do a search and find out.

I don’t know what it looks like, I guess it is already removed , but if it’s red, white and blue , D10 ZUM , it is a scam .. Bruce made only 3 in that color combination, and one is S10... one D10 is owned by a collector in MD. and another D10 is somewhere in TX ... if you see new model ZUM D10 in red white and blue on eBay , it is a scam , report it

Same seller is showing a Sheerhorn, known to be fraudulent.
Scam seller or hacked seller......?
Only thing that matters is knowing that the listings are bogus.

I looked at his other items for sale. Most all if them that are new listings (many) have a first bid of $5.30. And they ALL have a shipping cost of $35, from a big console organ to a wrist watch. This guy just has to be legit. >:-)

The Zum, the "Sheerhorn" and, actually, the seller, all seem to be gone. Whack-a-Mole......I am sure this is not the end.

Great watchdog service there Nicholas. Looks like the scammer has been shut down once more. These criminals never stop looking for ways to steal people's money.
