Six of one and a half-dozen of the other! 20+ years of I guess just dumb luck that I’ve only had one damaged item and no lost items...knock on real wood! The one damaged item wasn’t necessarily FedEx’s fault...the shipper did a shoddy job of packing the steel-related item...Anyway, here’s wishing you the best outcome Johnny...the shipping/mailing system seems to be out of sync since a March for obvious reasons...Carl

There's "Horror stories" about all the shippers. They are equally good or bad.

It has nothing to do with the shipping companies. Have you not seen the horrible weather/fires/storms/fires and fires????
Sometimes it is impossible to travel PERIOD!!!

Yeah, the needle that has a great big homemade wooden box around it that’s very heavy and probably has “pedal steel guitar“ written on the side. I can’t believe they would lose something that size. That being said I find FedEx to be the better of the companies for shipping.

The very real potential for damage is main reason I required pick up when I sold my Franklin.
As a side note on the Franklin it was sold to a person in Nashville and ultimately purchased by a person that lives 35 miles south of me.

.
I had Chris Fouke build a guitar for me about 3 months ago.
We live 600 miles apart. It was to be delivered by USPS.
It took 8 days to travel that 600 miles using 2 day shipping.
The response I got was that the service hubs are vastly undermanned and are in a state of perpetual chaos.
I was told that they no longer expedite any item no matter how it is marked
unless overnight shipping has been paid for. Everything else is treated equally.
I imagine that would apply to any shipping company these days.

I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying.

I'd been looking at Chris' work for 3 years and finally took the plunge.
It finally arrived in perfect condition, but.......whew.....
