Mike Auldridge 8 string acoustic resonator guitar by Beard Guitars
For sale here is a fabulous 8 string resonator guitar; a legend among resonators. Players have compared it to a baby grand piano with respect to it's brilliant, full and balanced tone. Stike a chord and revel in the rich overtones and deep sustain. As described on the Beard Guitars web site: "A huge, warm low end, with a sweet, crystal clear, bell-like high end, being perfectly balanced in between with awesome sustain." So true. Paul Beard is one of the premier resonator luthiers of our time and with this guitar, he has created a brilliant work of art that is as beautiful to the the eye as it is to the ear! Resonator guitars are a special category of acoustic wood instruments in having the vibration of the strings carry through to a thin aluminum disk below the bridge. This facility lends a gilded sonic quality to its sound that is hauntingly redolent.
As seen in the sticker picture, it is serial number 8-031, dated 4/19/2006.
Paul Beard developed this guitar model in partnership with the legendary musician Mike Auldridge, a pioneer in developing the musical repertoire for resonator guitars and the model MA 8 bears his name. Mike personally tested every guitar of this model made and signed the sticker if it met with his exacting standards. As seen in the sticker picture, this guitar bears that signature.
This awe-inspiring guitar has aged well and has been lovingly cared for. I'd rate its condition as "pristine". Its only flaw are a few light scatches in the finish on the bottom of the guitar near the strap knob (see pictures). These can be cleaned up easily - I would prefer Paul Beard do it but have hesitated to ship it to him just for that purpose.
