Vintage tuners on ricks?

Post by Ryan Lunenfeld »

What were the tuners used on the older ricks? I need to replace two buttons/knobs...not sure what to look for!

Are they Klusons? Any place to get these vintage pieces?

There was a range of tuners used, though crumbling buttons is a particularly common issue with old Klusons. If you can post a picture we can ID them.

I'm betting you're dealing with something like this:

You didn't tell us it was a frying pan! Since the buttons are crumbling, they're probably original. I'd try a couple of the ivoroid tuner buttons from David's Stewmac link above. Not too hard to install if you follow the directions although I've managed to screw up a couple out of the couple dozen I've replaced. Wouldn't hurt to buy an extra.
