That is gorgeous. One of the finest interpretations I've ever heard. Bach's "S&P's" are obviously desert-island TOP FIVE for me, usually Henryk Szeryng's second run-through. I can't begin... many, many times, even in the face of Mike Perlowin and Dave Easley, I've had people tell me that the steel guitar can never be taken as a serious instrument unless it is shown to be capable of playing serious music. How many times can one call "Roly-Poly" great? This... is great.

I guess you're gonna whip up a pot of coffee and run through the whole set?

P.S.( I have the same "issue" with trying to play written music without a guitar. It's so frikking glacial - back-and-forth, back-and-forth, but I still try to wean myself off the sixer.)

sometime somewhere...somebody will play all this stuff on the lap steel and read it down just like a violin or a piano player or whatever. just a matter of time and someone with the desire to do it. i am just trying things and seeing what i can get done with what i have to work with at this point. some young gun needs to be doing this....

I read this statement while listening to your beautiful and precise work and nearly fell out my chair laughing. Great work! Thanks for... going THERE!

Everyone, listen to this!

I can’t add any superlatives to what has already been superlativized here, it is just an incredible undertaking and beautiful performance. Thank you, Bill, for doing it and posting it here for us.

Really nice...great intonation and dynamics. Bach would have been impressed. Thanks for the inspiration...
