Melbert Roundabout

Post by Steven Hudson »

I am really excited about receiving this steel. It is shipping from Tennessee today. This is Bob Allen's frypan design. He calls it the Roundabout. This is my new gig guitar.

Take my money!! I had a 7-string Melbert for a bit. Loved it. I will have to see if they make these in an 8-string.

I like the traditional look of the frypan design and bought this Trade Wind a few years ago. It even has a faux horseshoe pickup. It’s a hollow body and has a unique tone.

He has already made an 8-string. I think he has a picture up now. That one has a deluxe head, more of a keyhead look, instead of the plain headstock look of the standard. I'm thoroughly enjoying this one. You know Bob, it's a sweet playing tank.

That's a cool looking frypan. Thanks for sharing. I like the horseshoe look.
