I'm a very green pedal steel rookie from Boston and needed help setting up two very different instruments.

One is a Sho-Bud single neck that I thought was a Lloyd Green model, but turned out to be a (badly) converted crossover. The other is a single neck Dekley that was in good shape but had its pedals and mechanics dismantled by a misguided former user (me in another life).

I got the name Tommy Cass from a pedal player friend. I contacted Tom, and took both axes to his Baldwinville Mass. workshop. Tom said it might take a couple of weeks, since he had a couple instruments ahead of mine, maybe sooner if he had to wait for parts on them. And he did.

In less than a week I got back two thoroughly cleaned and properly set up guitars (both to Emmons E9).

I can't praise Tom's work enough. Or his personable and friendly counsel to a rookie.

So if you're in New England and need pedal steel work done, Tom Casella (aka Tommy Cass) is your man!

+1. Tommy does exceptional work on all-pulls and push-pulls and anything in between- always a pleasure to spend time with.

I've heard nothing but good things about Tom. As a fellow Mass Steeler, I wish you the best Patrick!
