Your playing not hot enough?

Well, I'm passing this along from my pals at Fretboard Journal ...

Thanks for posting that.

No relation; but, this is one of our local eateries.

Years ago I was taking a diesel class in Houston. Being from New Mexico, I was missing my chile. I found a place close to the motel we were staying, opened the door, people speaking spanish, corridas on the juke box.
I told the guys from San Antonio and we made plans, but one said, "you're not going to get the Mexican food you're looking for in Texas!" Sure enough I asked for a green enchillada in english, and then in spanish, the waiter said they didn't have any raw chile. I then saw rellanos on the menu and ordered, what I got was a bell pepper with something like "Wolf Brand" chili in it!

I had a friend in Austin, TX who was originally from Carlsbad, NM.
I was at his house one evening and he invited me to stay for supper.
I asked him what was being served and he said: "chili and cheese". That sounded kind of hot to me but the way he prepared the chilies took all the hot out of them and it was delicious! Very Happy

We always make rellenos when the chile starts coming off, (about now), but I quit putting up a lot as it's available frozen year round. My brother in law and I usually split a sack, and now days they roast it right there for you, all you have to do is peel and clean, and freeze it.
I used to tell the company engineers who would come here from Ft Worth. Chile is a vegetable, chili is a meat stew!
There was a fellow who had a restaurant here in the 70's that moved to San Antonio, and cooked New Mexico food there. A local produce fellow was buying and shipping him green chile by the truckload. Sometime in the late 80's I heard he had opened 2 more restaurants, (with one in Dallas).

Bill,
When I was just a little guy we were living in Silver City. My dad was working on a road project there.
I have a picture of myself taken in Silver City by a photographer who had a studio in Silver City.
Do you know anything about that studio? Very Happy

There was a guy on Pope street for years. When New Mexico finally got concealed carry, I drove by there for the"passport" photos they wanted, but it was closed. I found a place up on College st that got my pics.
When I was in high school at Cliff, they were working on the road to Silver, and a couple of kids dads worked on the job.
