From Hawaiian to Country Music

Post by Dom Franco »

Every time I play for an audience I tell them about the Hawaiian Steel Guitar's influence on Country Western Music.
I usually play a Hawaiian song and then tell them how my parents got me lessons on the Hawaiian Guitar because they liked Hank Williams music. Here in this video I try to make the connection...

Dom, watched several of your videos. Enjoyed every one of them.
A couple questions about your set up if you don't mind.
What are you using to play your background tracks?
Are you playing the steel through 2 amps?
12 strings on your guitar? What tuning?
and lastly, what the heck is that aluminum looking thing on your stand? It looks like a Harmon mute for a trumpet.

Christopher;
I use a ZUNE Mp3 player,

I use a Crate 65w amp for steel, and 2 Acoustic 50 PA wedges for vocals and backing trax.

My tuning is (13 strings) A6th Extended
