I’m tuning one of my guitars down a step. Do you know if you can use the Peterson offsets for E9? I usually wind up running by ear, but it’s nice to have a baseline.

Hi Chris,

Which Peterson tuner model do you have?

On the StroboFlip, after selecting the SE9 Sweetener, press the DROP/KEY button and use the UP/Down arrow buttons to select the required drop tuning degree:
♭1 means one half-step or semitone down
♭2 means one step or one whole tone down etc.

Please remember that along with the cent offsets, the displayed note names will also be transposed, so you should tune as if tuning to E9.
However the transposition adjustment of ♭2 will cause the resulting tuning to be D9.

On the iStroboSoft app, it works similarly, select the SE9 Sweetener, set the Drop/Capo value to -2 and tune as if tuning to E9, the result will be a D9 tuned guitar.
