Any chance of a 12 string narrow mount for my S-12 Sho Buds?

John, that would be no problem, that was my next model to work up and I can stretch the the 10 string 3D model easily. I would want to check a couple dimensions with you, send me an email if you would like to move forward and I will get an invoice out.

I have completed the model for narrow mount 12 string in 94 mm spacing, and already have one in process for a customer's Mullen. I believe this is the correct spacing for vintage ShoBuds also, can be verified at time of purchase.

Would the narrow mount fit the original MSA Classic D-10 narrow mount single coil? Could you make me a Humbucker for my vintage 1975 MSA Classic? How Much?

Billy, I assume you are talking about the MSA Classic arrangement mentioned by Johnie King on page 2 of this thread? Not sure what the MSA narrow mount dimensions are, but the smallest I can make the Z10 pickup is the cover dimensions, which are 1.29 x 4.02 inches. i could mold in standoffs on the underside to make it the correct height and as Johnie discussed the pickup could be secured with rubber cement, velcro, etc. There would be a small charge for the 3D model change you can email me to discuss further.

On your humbucker request, I am only making Z Series single coils right now.

Z Series Pickup in a GFI Ultra

Post by Chris Marinelli »

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that the 91mm spacing 12 string pickup fits perfect in my GFI Ultra. I've found that these guitars are picky when it comes to pickups as the cavity is very shallow. Rest assured, if you are considering getting one for your GFI they fit great.

Oh yeah, I'm very happy with the sound as well - it's got that open, airy single coil thing going on for sure!

Got mine installed on Thursday, and I’ve been playing it a lot since! Not sure why, but I can set it closer to the strings, which results in great string separation, and the highs are still very smooth. I was actually able to increase the treble on my Twin without the ice pick effect! Nice glassy top and punchy low end at once! 👍
Now I’m thinking I need one for my LDG..

Here is a pic of the first 12 string narrow mount, pole spacing 3.70 inch 94 mm for Mullen and Sho Bud.

Bump it up, and I have now added an 8 string version for pedal or lap steel that uses the wide mount bolt pattern with the 4 tabs. Shown here on a Sierra SL8 lap steel with 74 mm overall pole spacing, other pole spacings can be custom ordered.

Mark,

I am not exactly sure what you describing but if you email me a pic I’m sure I could figure out an arrangement that would fit your steel.

Do you have a larger plate with two George L humbuckers mounted in it? I have never seen that arrangement but it could certainly be done.

My pickup would drop right in, the large rectangle of the pickup body is 1.29 inch x 3.82 inch, both of these dimensions are smaller than the GL pickup.

Would need to make the pole spacing smaller for the neck pickup but that's no problem.

I wanted to give two big thumbs up to Scott here. The Z pickup sounds incredible in my Show Pro! And, the first one Scott sent had incorrect string spacing (we both assumed it would be the same as other Show Pro steels, apparently is not!) and he shipped another at his expense both ways - truly excellent customer care.

I couldn’t recommend higher!

I’ve done a couple livestream shows and a couple sessions with my Z pickup-equipped Show Pro. The tone is just wonderful, and the hum is minimal! Very happy engineers :)
