Methenian Skies - Bart Dietvorst, Mischa Porte & Mathew Jut

Post by Mathew Jut »

Hey y’all,

Here is something different than country, here is what Bart wrote about the song:

My song 'Methenian Skies' was obviously inspired by the great Pat Metheny. I have always loved his fluent, adventurous and virtuoso playing. I was joined by my fellow Dutchies Mischa Porte (drums) and Mathew Jut (pedal steel) for this track. Hope you like it!

I used my Duesenberg Guitars Imperial and PRS Guitars SE Semi-Hollow P90 guitars for this song along with my Kemper Amps and ChickenPicks guitar picks.

Hope you guys like it!

Best regards,
Mathew Jut

JUT - Out standing recording, sounds top of the line.

I have a request, you have a Youtube video playing "SWINGIN DOOR"

Q1 HOW ARE YOU RECORDING SWINGIN DOOR?

Q2 ARE YOU GOING DIRECTLY TO YOUR COMPUTER IF SO WHAT PROGRAM ARE YOU USING TO RECORD YOUR PLAYING?

Q3 WHAT AMP ARE YOU USING, WHAT ARE YOUR SETTINGS?

Q4 HOW DO YOU DO YOU SOUND SO PROFESSIONAL?

Q5 IS'NT IT ABOUT TIME YOU RECORD YOUR OWN CD FOR THE PEDAL STEEL GUITAR COMMUNITY?

Hi Kenneth!

Sorry for coming back to you so late, but here are my answers to your questions:

A1: I recorded with an Audio Interface & DAW, i'm using a pretty cheap model myself namely the Behringer UMC202HD.

A2: I'm using a microphone to record my Steel amp, I'm currently using the Aston Stealth, a really good microphone!

A3: I'm using different kind of amps, from Peavey to Boss Katana. I have no standard setting for an amp, they are all different.

A4: Thank you for your compliment, it's a really simple answer to be honest, and that is to spend most of time into Steel Guitar.

A5: Yes I agree, I'm planning to record my own instrumental album. I still have to decide which numbers are going to be on the album. It will be a project for around 2020-2021.
