It was very cool to see Robert Randolph do the National Anthem at the opening of the Nascar Race in at Kentucky Speedway on a lap steel!

I really like the rake he did. It seems I don't hear as many players do those at steel shows anyone. They seem to be done more on the C6th neck, are they also used on E9 tuning?

Very nice rendition, i'm proud as punch. It's so wonderful this beautiful antique instrument, and Robert's great playing made it into the public eye once again. Literally around the world. Way to go Robert.

Well I was disappointed. He was introduced emphatically as "the...pedal steel guitarist" but all we got was the melody - not a chord to be heard till the end. When you think of how great a hymn tune sounds on a pedal instrument it seems like an opporunity lost.

Not disrespecting Mr Randolph, or your anthem (which has a way better tune than ours) or Nascar. Just wondering what the average viewer (who maybe does not revere R.R. as much as we do) made of it...
