Lesson Boston area

Post by Tor Arve Baroy »

Hi 🙂
If travelling is more normal next year, I will be making a trip to Boston in may.

Do anyone know any good pedalsteelplayers in that area? I would love to take a "masterclass" or something to get some new input on my playing 😉

Any tips from forum members?

Tor, I teach E9 on Skype, and have had a few satisfied students from Sweden and Norway. If that interests you, email me and we'll discuss details on how I may be able to help you.

Doug Beaumier is a couple of hours' drive outside of Boston. I do not know if he is still teaching.

A live lesson from Doug would be ideal, Tor. He's a great player and his books of tabbed songs are wonderful, I use them to instruct a number of my students.

Check & see who's playing at the Blue Star Bar in Saugus or Trader Allen's in Amesbury. Played those places many moons ago, and if they are still there & having country, there may be a steel player in one or the other.
A couple D-10s,some vintage guitars & amps, & lotsa junk in the gig bag.

lesson near Boston

If Doug or Karen aren't available, I'm about an hour and a half north of Boston (southern NH), I would be interested in giving lessons. I taught a speed picking class for the RI steel club and may have some helpful material.
