Jagwire Strings order quick!! ---- NOT!!!

Post by Terry Srader »

Any one else had issues with getting strings from Mullen / Jagwire?

Order placed 3/9/06 (prior to Dallas show)...I still haven't seen any strings!!

I mean, Jagwires are popular and all, but this is unbelievable!! Almost a 2 month wait for 3 packs of strings??? That's assuming I get them within the next 2 weeks. Sheesh!!

I buy my Jagwire strings from the Forum catalog, and I don't think it's ever taken more than three or four days to get them. b0b usually ships them the same day he receives the order.

I asked Jagwire a question about strings a month or so ago.

Maybe someday they'll reply.

I hesitate to even order a brand with that kind of service.

I too give b0b high marks for the quick service the couple of times I've bought here.

However, I prefer to do my business using my credit card. I don't like Ebay (and its PayPal affiliate), and sending a check makes it "not so quick service"; checks are sooo 20th century, anyway - e-commerce is the way of the future.

So, lacking the credit card payment option here, I'm forced to get my stuff elsewhere.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Dave Potter on 27 April 2006 at 07:23 AM.]</p></FONT>

Credit cards are so 20th century! Image

Seriously, PayPal is easier for me, as a merchant, to deal with. I don't want to know your credit card number. I don't want that responsibility. I pay as much in PayPal fees as I would for a Visa/MC merchant account, without the hassle of credit card verification.

If you're in the USA and have a few days, I prefer a personal check. No fee.

Jagwire has been having problems meeting demand lately. Classic growing pains - they are victims of their own success. You may have noticed that some of the items are marked "out of stock" in the Forum catalog. Danny and company are working hard to remedy this situation.

Thank you Bob for clarifying I have been waiting on them for a while, got them in and shipped them out the same day. Jagwire has been busy just like every other manufacturer in the business. So you might check before ordering your strings wherever you do, to make sure they have them instock. I know we go through many strings with new guitars and string orders, so by the time I receive an order they are usually almost gone before I get them, guess at this point there aint much more to do than order a truck load. Sorry for the delay, but they are finally on the way.

Another advantage with PayPal is that you don't even need YOUR OWN credit card or credit card number with you. Just log in and pay. I use PayPal all over the place now and as a buyer it cost you the same as a credit card - nothing!

Fellow Forumites, and to those concerned. First and foremost I would like to make something clear. If for any reason you are not getting a Jagwire String order from any of our dealers, please know that it is usually not their fault, it's ours for not being able to keep them supplied.

We receive orders here practically everyday, and although we are doing our best to keep up, we have still been falling behind. However, we are working on that everyday here in an effort to try meet supply and demand. We also have suppliers we rely on for some of our material, just as most other companies do, and when they fall behind, hence, we fall behind too.

This can, "and does" happen to just about anyone in business who has a successful product that is in big demand, such as with manufacturers like Mullen and ZumSteel, and although we all try to our best, sometimes our best just isn't good enough, no matter what we try to do.

Just to give you a little perspective on this, when I first bought the company many year ago, I could sit around here for months and fill orders with practically no effort, and never run out of anything. However, since we've made many major changes to the Jagwire String products, well... that pretty much changed everything!

The company has grown in leaps and bounds, and we are very proud and happy about that. As an example, when we first bought the company, string production was in the low hundreds. Today, it is approching the million mark. To say that this is tough to keep up with would indeed be a bit of an understatement. Nonetheless, we're working at it and we're confident that we will get up to full power here soon.

We sincerely appreciate all of you very much, and more than words could ever explain here. And we thank you for your patience and understanding. However, if you feel the urge to sling mud at anyone for not getting your orders as fast as you expect them, please don't blame Bobby or any of the Jagwire dealers, blame us.

In the meantime.... anybody want to buy a company. :-)
