Moonlight in Vermont mystery tuning ?

Post by Maxime Ledon »

Hello everyone. I have a tuning question, I wanted to try to work on this song using that absolutely beautiful version :

That is Anthony Locke playing, what a player ! So my searches got me ending at a B11 tuning resembling an A6 with a D#, he talks about it on a stardust video available on youtube. But here I think it's something else, probably part of B11, I can hear it @ 0:11 on that F chord but the B on top does not match the B11 tuning he uses. I am sure expert ears on this forum might have some clues about this, at least I hope for ... What a beautiful rendition again ...have a great day and thanks for your ideas, kind of bottle to the sea there :)

Hello, yep it is pedal steel "unfortunately" :) That is so nice anyway, relly love the chords you can get with that instrument ! Really nice taste in Anthony Locke's rendition !

It is probably A6th or C6th with pedals. There are lush chords but with one or two notes moving while the rest ring out in place... That requires some sort of "pull string" device or finger pulls behind the bar.

Hello Dom, you're right I asked Anthony and he replied it was C6 with pedals. If I was to play pedal steel that's definitely that kind of thing I'd like to go to !
