Sho-Bud Maverick. 3/1

Post by Ronald Heinzel »

Sho Bud Maverick I got from a guy I play with. Said it was under the bed for 20 years.
Not beat up, I put strings on it and lightly lubed it. Stays in tune, nice little guitar. Looks like the original HSC in nice shape as well.
$750 plus shipping.

Lots of us got started on those. Mine didn't have a knee-lever, so I built one using the whammy bar and hardware off a cheap import guitar. That was in the early 1970s.

Thinking about it for a loaner for friends, but times are uncertain.

I had the similar idea but things didn’t work out for him.

Ronald I wonder how difficult adding a knee lever would be
Pre RP Mullen D10 8/7, Zum 3/4, Carter S-10 3/4, previous Cougar SD-10 3/4 & GFI S-10 3/4, Fender Steel King, 2 Peavey Session 500's, Peavey Nashville 400, Boss DD-3, Profex-II, Hilton Digital Sustain, '88 Les Paul Custom,Epiphone MBIBG J-45, Fender Strat & Tele's, Takamine acoustics, Marshall amps, Boss effects, Ibanez Tube Screamer, and it all started with an old cranky worn out Kay acoustic you could slide a Mack truck between the strings and fretboard on!!

Adding a LKL to raise at least string 4 E-F would be easy. Raising plus lowering both 4+8 would be tricky but maybe possible with creative use of springs, etc. By the time you got done messing around you’d be better off getting a used pro model MSA or the like.
