Thanks Stu and I don't think you would ever have to take a back seat to any player!
I'm working on a CD of my steel playing. It'll be entitled: Songs I Should Never Play

Bo nice clip of whiskey bent. Nice tone well executed notes and phrasing. I throughly enjoyed it. Slim

thanks Mike I was just showing that there are no hot licks and in that clip I was just trying to fill up a small band.
I am thankful they allowed me way up in the mix. It makes you pick better since you can't hide behind the band!

Sometimes Bo simplicity is better IMHO.. I feel sometimes there are to many hot licks that hide the true beauty of the melody of the song on the steel parts. Just food for thought

I learned my lesson the hard way. When videos of the jam I used to attend started being posted, it dawned on me that I was stinking up the place. Playing next to guitarists like Roger Edgington, Bill McCumber, Dale Thomas, etc showed me how awful I was/am after 30+ years of steel guitar.

I unwittingly signed up for that butt-kicking, and was soundly thrashed. Embarassed
