Interested in recovering the pad on my Carter SD-10. For some reason I get an itchy right wrist from it. I have a sensitivity to vinyl and have the same issue in a car with vinyl seats

Does anyone have a link to a tutorial somewhere for doing this sort of thing? I'm going to try actual leather (which I have no issue with).

I have the general idea, but need to know how to make the square corners.

Thanks!

Landon, there are some great upholstery videos on YouTube. Not exactly on your arm pad but any rectangle shaped object. Just do a search and you will find some great instructions.

If you know a leather worker they may have a man made leather material that would work for what you want to do.
I have made 3 pads for guitars in my herd. I have found that cutting a grove in the wood core and pulling the material into the grove with sewing thread, Is neater than trying to fold the corners on thicker materials.
On the key head end use a piece of bare wood and carve or route groves for Bars, picks and tuning wrench.
I have 1 pad that I cut stick pins and filed points on them to attach the leather to the wood core at the nut roller length.
Here is a picture of my old MSA pad.

On the back end of this pad I have a bracket that holds a tuner, Instead of clamping it on the leg.
