I know there has been tons of discussion about using Pelican cases, but has anyone managed to use one for a double body Emmons? And if so can you share your method for building the interior and a pic? I need something lighter with wheels on it. Thanks in advance! |

Chris the Pelican cases aren't exactly that light ... maybe your thinking of the wheeled SKB drum stand cases many of us use for flying cases ?? _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Hi Chris yes thats the one I have been using for quite a few years - it's held up well and is very light - I usually just carry the body of the guitar (D10) in mine to keep it under the airline limit of 23KG/50lb and just stow the pedal bar, legs and rods in another bag with my clothes etc.. I only use it for flying though! (which I do quite a bit) _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

I guess the weight isn't the issue really I just need something on wheels, and I'm hesitant to put casters and a handle on a vintage case. No plans to fly. But I'm not really comfortable with the soft gator case I see people using. I'm assuming you cut custom foam for it? Curious what you used and where you sourced it. Thank you for the input! |

Hi Chris yes I did line it with a nice thin, but stout foam and thats held up well! No point in me telling you where I got it as I am in New Zealand :-} ... there will be plenty of guys on here who can guide you on sourcing that I am sure. The wheels hold up pretty well too so no problem with those. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9
