I want to give a shout out for Sonny Jenkins. I contacted him about an 8 string practice board tuned to c6 but with a string spacing to match the pedal steel I own.
He responded right away, and I just got the finished product today. You can see it under the topic Practice Board?,,Lap Steel?,,Acoustic??
This is a very nice board, but more than that, it is an acoustic lap steel, with really good volume and great sustain.
Thanks, Sonny.

I believe I have the prototype for that 8 string practice "board." Mine is flat on the bottom, not dished out for the larger volume. I like it a lot. Gives plenty of sound to hear what I'm playing, is very small so travels well, stays in good tune and always gets oohs and ahhs when I take it out.

Hey David,,,glad to hear that one is working for you,,,and that it is staying in tune!!! I remember some issues with the "keyhead" end,,,glad it is stable. I like these little things,,handy,,kinda like an acoustic guitar.
