Who's on steel w/john duffey here?

The steel comes in after the instrumental solos. The steel is kinda hard to hear because of all the bluegrass that's going on. 🤣😂 but it sounds like emmons to me.

The song originally appeared on Act 4 by The Seldom Scene in 1979.

Mike Auldridge on pedal steel.

Mike wouldn’t have been playing pedal steel for very long at that point, but the stories I’ve heard was that when he decided to add the instrument to his “tool box,” he would be in his famous basement in his Maryland home practicing for 10 hours a day.

Yes, that's Mike alright. I got him interested in steel guitar. I was not really a bluegrass fan. I had always listened to country music, and wanted to learn steel guitar. I found one I could afford. Got together with Mike in his basement to see if he could help me get started. Us working together, got him really interested. He brought one, and started taking lessons from Buddy Charlton. After about a year, we were teaching each other new stuff every month. He became pretty good especially on C6th and that was the influence for his 8 string swing album. But I always steered him more to guys like Emmons, Ralph Mooney, Lloyd green and Pete Drake. I always tried to copy those players, but Mike sort of developed his own style. It was always a fun day, when we could get together in his basement. Tommy.....
