Can anyone tell me who played the steel in the concert backing band in the Ken Burns Country Music Concerts? Great ears!

Paul Franklin was playing the show at the Ryman.

Yeah, semi incognito wearing his cap! But, you couldn't mistake his playing for anyone else!

It's no surprise he's a first call "A" List player. His pitch is perfect, and what little he was highlighted was so tasty. I constantly run into players who are beyond self-deprecating, basically running down their role in a band as a mere sideman. I consider a well-played steel as a premiere player, certainly not just a sideman.
