looking for a u12

Post by Nickolas Schweitzer »

Hello all, I am a new member but I’ve used the site for a while now and love the site. I am looking for a u12. I don’t really care about cosmetics, all I care about is the mechanical condition. id like it to be as cheap as possible, (dont we all) Long story short the first pedal steel I got was off of reverb a little over a year ago and I got burnt for a little bit of money. I don’t want to spend a ton of money on my first u12 nor do I want a project.

Hi Nickolas
I have a MSA U12 7 by 4 with a wrist lever sitting in the corner hardly ever played in the last five years. It does need a couple of tweaks you would probably want to remedy. I changed it to Bb uni years ago. Love it but never connected one knee lever. All parts are hooked loosely on the lever just couldn't make up my mind what I wanted. Originally I got it refurbished from Tom Bradshaw.
I was planning to sell my whole set up MSA with good case, split cab Nashville 400 Amp, seat and light beam volume pedal. All for $1900. If interested I'll try to recall how to attach pictures or can do by PM. I often travel to Sacramento so I could take it that far & you could see it, play it, etc.

Hi Nikolai!

I would suggest looking into a Williams U12, I've had great luck with mine and they're affordable. There's also a Mullen U12 that looks fantastic at steel guitars of nashville, I've hit them up about trades before and they seem open to it for the right gear.
