Post by Dave Zirbel »

Grabbed this off Facebook and hearing this now for the first time. I'm sure a lot of you heard it but for those that haven't, here you go! Loving the roadhouse vibe.

The world’s greatest steel player backing the world’s greatest singer. How can you get any better than this?

That's a great find Dave.

I have not heard this, but am recording it now and will listen many times in the future.
AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. Can't get much sweeter.

In '65 would this have been recorded through a mixing board because it sounds pretty good for live.

Don Adams(bass player/harmony singer on this album)said that only 3 mics were used in the recording of this album.

Thanks! - A great reason to listen to this album again. Just realized the "Live at Dancetown USA" CD cover is not the gig - it's the Adams Brothers but that's Sonny Curtis in the photo on the far left:

Also this reissue is not the gig - it's the Adams Brothers but with Georgie Riddle who was not on the band then:

Speaking of 60's amps - I bet that's an Emmons into a Standel.
