Headset Shure WH20XLR Dynamic Microphone

Post by Nigel Mullen »

I just purchased a new Shure WH20XLR dynamic microphone. Its the headset type and it fits really well and allows me to play steel and sing a lot easier than with the mic on a stand etc. The only problem I have is that it doesn't have very much volume. Wonder if any of you are using these and if you've had the same problem. NM

Nigel,

I have the same thing. Between swallowing the mic and adding a preamp with a big boost after the mic, I have made it work but I'm going back to singing into a mic on a stand. I have always wondered if the condenser version had a substantially hotter output.

Take a look at a "Cloudlifter". Its a popular in line mic volume booster.
