Texas Troubadour mood

Post by Ron Hogan »

I was in a Troubadour mood, so I created a Band In a box track and went to town. Actually, it's not a TT tune though.

Ron, are you using a standard guitar pick in your right hand? I've never seen steel played that way. I've only seen thumb and finger picks used.

Hi Jim,
No I'm not using a guitar pick. Just the normal 3 picks.

Sid Hudson use to use a guitar pick and also Mike Borque here in town and play great.

Ron,

Thanks for taking time to answer my question. I think it's so interesting how many different ways players can find to play an instrument.

While true for almost any instrument I can think of it's surprising (to a non player like me) how large a role technique plays in the sound of an instrument.

Hi Jim. I also find that a player doesnt have be playing for 30 years. I've learned from player that have only started 3 years ago. The brain is what makes it great, umong other things.

BTW...I have one of your Brother's Sitar bars.
