I just purchased this thing for less than the price of a tank of gas. The pawnbroker said "it works but needs servicing." I bought it for one reason, and one reason only: 28 of those scarce aluminum knobs, complete with the fabric inserts. I also plan to keep the cabinet. Are there any other parts or components under the hood that would be worth salvaging? Or should the carcass be delivered to the nearest electronics recylcling center.

I have one of those in my garage! I think the reverb tank is mounted in the top, so may not work so well in the normal amp position. |

I would strip the amp corners, the feet, the jacks, the tolex, the handle, all of the pots. Or keep the cabinet and install some rack mount effects in it. |

How well did it work as a P.A.? Interesting "sweep" feedback cancellation circuits. _________________ Emmons & Peavey |

We used one back in the day with our band that had the 4-12 columns. I added some RS piezos to get a little more sizzle. We didn't play any large venues so it was adequate for us with 3 mics. When we upgraded to a rack system, I sold it to a friend who years later gave me back the head, (it was dead).
I don't recall having much trouble with feedback, (we didn't have stage monitors in those days!) |
