guys Im just getting into the non pedal stuff and i have a old 6 string fender but on the fret board the first fred is 0 then 1.
my question is when i read tabs posted here do i follow the number on the fender fret board or just the natural number first fret 1 then 2 and so on. thanks in advance. also im looking for some tab for c6 material any links would be helpful. Joe from west virgina

Joe, don't know 'bout that Texanese numbering system,(no guff, now -- I was born & reared there)-- but tab is written with 0 (zero) being an open string. Try the Forum links & go to "Scotty's Music" for a good starting source for C6th lap & whatever. Also, try Ricky Davis' Tab site. There's others that someone else will come up with, I'm sure. Joseph, the nut is always fret 0, the first real fret is fret 1, etc.  |

i always knew first fret was 1 but was just making sure if the tab is the same on these old 6 string fenders. ive been playing pedal steel for around ten years, and i know that came off as a dumb question but hey im in west virgina lol.
Doug that is great tab for cold cold heart im going to play it just that way this week end. ill have my pedal and the lap swith over from time to time. I need more tap ill take all you got lol. joe
