I have the opportunity to get a LW50. It only has two controls. One for tone and one for volume. Will this be okay for steel? Or would you need the version with the additional EQ options? Just curious. Thanks.

I wouldn’t ... but thats just me... lotsa great amps out there with more control for tone...as for me most any amp works, because i will play through it till I get the tone i need to hear .. let your fingers do the talking...my choice in amps would be something that has 2 independent channels with a volume control for each channel... like the old fenders had... also an aux in and a phones out ... and none of the boutique amps have that! So i will stick with a sound board at home..

The biggest problem you’ll run into with the 50, is running out of clean headroom. It doesn’t have near the headroom that the 89 does. This is from personal experience, by the way. I have owned multiple 50’s, and still own a 15, an octal 80, and an 89.
