Non-country music with pedal and/or lap steel on all but one tune. We recorded this in a basement "studio" (our drummer's house), with Adam Gardner at the helm & on bass. Adam has assisted Dave Cobb on many projects, playing bass, keys, guitar, and assisting with production, editing, engineering.
There are not a whole lotta steel players in the Chicago area, and those that are here lean country. I wanted to do something else, and this album is exactly the kind of music I want to play steel guitar on. Please take a listen to the tracks on The Stars That Hang Above.
I would love your feedback.
I play lead guitar, pedal & non-pedal steel, baritone guitar, and high-strung acoustic guitar.

Thanks Paul! I've been a lead guitarist for many years and I tend to view pedal steel (and lap steel) as an extension of my lead guitar playing. Just using a different "voice" with different possibilities.Paul Wade wrote:chris
