I could not locate a ser# on this S10, any help in identifying would be most appreciated. There are some numbers etched into the pedal rack, not sure if they mean anything - R320 338 22 457. Thanks in advance!

Not like any Emmons I've ever seen. Looks like something someone built using some, but not all, Emmons parts.

Thanks Jerry for the info. That confirms the description I got that it is a "built" Emmons. It looks to me that the body is an Emmons but I am a total noob with these instruments and could be totally wrong. I know one of the tuners has been swapped for something incorrect, but otherwise I'm clueless on how to identify what's what.

So let me just ask straight up, if you saw this at a garage sale, would you buy it for $250?

Yes, I would. There seems to be enough Emmons parts there to recoup that amount plus some. Be advised though, that there might be a lot of work involved setting up....or maybe not...there's just no way to know.

I can't tell about the body, but the endplate, pickup and cavity along with the neck appear to be of other origin.

I would turn it down at $250.00 simply because I wouldn't want to invest the time in either parting it out or trying to get it up to a decent level of playability.

It's unfortunate that the changer end has been so badly modified, but it looks mostly all Emmons to me, and is easily worth $250
