I just saw a pic of a D10 Emmons on the For Sale page and it has spacers on the pull rods just before the rod fits into the changer finger. My old S10 has the same but this particular guitar had one spacer roughly an inch or so long. So what is the reason for them? Where some rods have them and some don't. Cheers. |

Are you talking about the spacers on the lowering (push) rods? Those spacers are there to offset the set collar so it doesn't hang up in the adjacent fingers when engaged. It doesn't really matter how long the spacer is, if someone used an extra long one it may have been simply all they had available at the time. Post a pic or link so we can know what it is you're talking about |

Yes it's the push rods I'm talking about. Just had a look at a few pics on the For Sale page and they all have spacers on the push rods.
The reason I asked is that my p/p didn't have spacers on all push rods so I couldn't figure out why some and not others. Can't say that I've ever had problems with the collars fouling but there you go. Thanks for the reply Ian. |
