Another question for Ricky would it be worth the Effort to Extend the scale length on a 73 An Brass barrel behind 2 hole puller one over One changer two Loyds 24 an a half scale?
Why Did Loyd opt too change his Sho Bud to nylon tuners?
Wouldn’t that limit the number of pulls you could get with the one over one changer
The brass barrels with two hole bell cranks gives you the option too pull an lower more string for pulls an lowers.

Guess he didn’t want to. How does he do the E-F-F# on string 4, though? I know he doesn’t lower it. _________________ KEVIN MAUL: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Danelectro, Evans, Fender, GFI, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

I may be wrong, but I think he also changed a couple of the changer fingers to the double raise fingers to accomplish the extra changes he needed. You are correct, it would be very limited with the single raise and lower fingers on all strings. As the owner of a barrel Sho-Bud, my guess would be that he changed it for improved tuning stability. _________________ 1967 Emmons Bolt On, 1995 Mullen PRP 3x5,Nashville 112, JOYO Digital Delay, Goodrich Volume Pedal, Livesteel Strings

Any string that raised twice; a extra metal hole was soldered onto the raise portion of the finger. (the 4th and 5th string).
This was done after Lloyd decided he didn't like the overtone that was coming from the longish distance from the roller to the tuning peg; so a new "shorter keyhead" was designed and put on; so a new 24 1/2" scale required a longer fretboard calculation and went with nylon tuning system as by that time, that was the new idea/system Sho~bud was coming out with; so also lloyd wanted different more comfortable knee levers and positions to hit with his knees...so that work was don't also>

Rick thanks would it be worth the effort too have a half inch longer scale? I think a person could move the key head a half an mill the end at the curved part of the key head just enough too keep the key head from extending over the end plate. |

To me Johnie; it would be more of a hassle to move the key-head by re-drill bottom end-plate and find or make with proper calculations a fretboard; just to make the scale a 1/4 or 1/2 inch longer.
