how do i get the 8th string to tune with the left kick left my left kick right works but the standard chart says it will work with the left kick left also?

Left knee right lowers string 8.
Left knee left raises string 8.
typically, the left levers control strings 4 & 8.
Tune with white nuts on right end of guitar.
Don't know if this helps or not.
