Serial number 1018 D can any tell me the age.
I wish she came with the back neck parts but she sounds good an plays good .

| Wasn’t that Emmons serial number chart the one posted on the Carter site a long time ago? I’m sorry if I’m raining on a parade but I recall a series of forum discussions that came to the conclusion the chart wasn’t accurate. Or am I remembering incorrectly? |

You are correct.66 thru 68 is all over the place. I've found it pretty accurate after 69.

I think Mike Cass is right 1965 he stated that serial numbers started at 1000 so this would be
Number 18 Built in 1965 |

Somewhere on one of the many posts about Emmons serial numbers, I believe it was Mike Cass who also stated that the xxxx-D serial numbers were started in late '67, but as a previous poster noted, there was a lot of ambiguity in that time period.
Still a pretty cool guitar no matter what, even without the C neck. |

I understand the 1st Emmons didn't have a serial number, they were recorded as per the invoice number.

Correct. If it where a 65. The serial # would be 1XXX to 2XXX with no D. Emmons used the 2xxx serial# series until they started the 1000 D series in late 67.

Erv, the first Emmons guitars used the month/year/ guitar number/ type serial numbers. The 65's through mid 67 had the invoice numbers. And not all. But most were stamped on the guitar.
I just noted Mike Cass wrote the 65's started in the 1000 range. Not saying they didn't. Mike should know better than anyone. But the 65's I know of, all have a serial # in the low 2000's. The 66's and early 67's near the mid 2000's.

I have 1089D I guess it is a 1966, good to know. I also have 1342D.
